Khumbi La Circuit Trek

Khumbi La Circuit Trek

Photo Gallery

Overview

This is -like a pilgrimage trek that makes a small circuit around the north western section of the Khumbu valley. This trek takes the westward route from Namche Bazaar past prayer flags fluttering in the wind. You can see some of the most complex and visually delightful Mane walls in this region and chortens to the village of Thame above the Bhote Koshi River.

The mountain views are excellent on this trek and get better and better as we move further along. You will be spending two nights in tents amidst beautiful and pristine natural surroundings while the rest of the nights will be spent in lodges. On your way from Renjo Lake to Gokyo, you will cross the Renjo La pass (5,340 m).

You get to take in scintillating mountain views from Gokyo Ri (5,483 m). By the time you reach Namche again, you would have made a total round about in a clockwise direction not unlike people of the Buddhist faith circumambulating stupas and religious shrines. The name of the trek emanates from this concept.
